Hello, colleagues,
This is our second article in the series, which aims to explain the individual components of AVCAD and how to use them to create the most accurate drawing containing all the information needed for the successful completion of a project.
Today, we want to talk about the Manufacturer Aliases functionality.
This feature was created to address a fairly common problem — differences in manufacturer names. Very often, we use different brand names in different contexts. One version of a name may be used for financial information, another in drawings, and a third in casual communication.
Our databases are named according to certain rules, which we will call the technical name. For example, a technical name in our system might be Comprehensive. However, in your systems, it may have a different name, such as Comprehensive Connectivity or Comprehensive Connectivity Company.
In this way, AVCAD can be taught to recognize various brand names and redirect them to our internal technical databases.

In this screenshot, you can see that all three different aliases are redirected to the COMPREHENSIVE database. This is convenient if you are exporting

2. By default, the Schemes Manager will export the final engineering specification using the database's technical name. In the case of this screenshot — COMPREHENSIVE. By checking the Use for Export column, you will see the final specification with the version you selected, which simplifies integration with your other products.
